The National Highway network should be expanded so as to form a square grid of 100 Km. Side.

  

Expressway should be constructed on major traffic corridors to provide speedy travel.

  

State Highways should be extended to serve district head-quarters, sub-divisional head-quarters, major industrial centres, places of commercial interest, places of tourist attraction, major agricultural market centres and ports.

  

Major district Roads should serve and connect all towns and villages with a population of 1,500 and above which are not connected directly by National Highways or state Highways. They should also provide interconnections between towns wherever necessary.

  

Other District Roads should serve and connect villages with a population of 1,000-1,500.

  

Pedestrain footbridges (Sakavs) be constructed in hilly areas to serve the villages living in remote areas by giving them accessibility to their farms/other social amenities lying across rivers/creeks, which separate the two.
